Whilst we are all on lockdown we have decided to set you a series of Baking with MamGu challenges. The challenges are open to all ages and we will be choosing a winner of the alternative welsh cake making challenge and selling the welsh cake in our coffee shop when we re-open as a limited addition charity welsh cake!
Ready, Steady, BAKE!!!!
Week one is how to make traditional welsh cakes, check out the how to guide below and tag us on Facebook and instagram so we can see how you get on. Don’t forget to read our top tips before you start baking!
So, you’ve already had a go at making traditional flavoured Welshcakes, how did it go? Is there anything you would have done differently? If so, now’s your chance to put it into practise! The best flavour will be sold in our coffee shop in Solva when we re-open, with the money going to a charity of your choice.
We’re asking you to come up with your own flavour of welshcake. As you may know we do a number of different flavoured welshcakes ranging from the savoury flavours like leek and cheese, to the chocolatiest triple chocolate. We’d like you to get creative and think of what your perfect welshcake flavour would be. Are you a chocoholic? Do you prefer savoury foods? The possibilities are endless!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. And as with the traditional welshcake, don’t forget to share a picture of your creation with us on facebook!
Our email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Or you can find us on Facebook or Instagram @mamguwelshcakes
Good luck and we look forward to seeing what you come up with and don’t forget to share them with us on Facebook or Instagram to be in with a chance of winning
