Last Month we teamed up with local businesses in the Solva and St Davids Peninsula to raise vital funds for sCAHMs Preseli Centre, by running fundraising event. The fundraising event “Cwtch 4 sCAMHS was unfortunately canceled due to Storm Dennis (18th February), however with raffle prizes which blew the roof off (so to speak) the community raised a grand total of £1910, with Velero kindly donating £500 to this total.
A proportion of the funds raised could go towards paying for up to 2 young people to partake in 10 surf lessons with “ TONIC Surf Therapies”“ this is to help build confidence, self-esteem and engage in physical activity whilst enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the Pembrokeshire coastline. The donations could go towards essential equipment such as Stress balls, mindfulness books, and craft stationery. As well as this, TYF adventure in St Davids has also kindly donated an activity session for 8 young people at the centre.
“We are so thrilled that MamGu's Welshcakes chose to raise funds for sCAMHS. Their raffle was a huge success and the support from local businesses and the community has been fantastic. A huge thank you to all the team at MamGu's the funds will make a huge difference to the patients, their families and staff. Also, a big thank you to Valero for their support with this fundraiser.” - Katie Hancock, fundraising officer for Hywel Dda Health Charities
We have been blown away by the generosity and support of local businesses in our community, we hope the donations will make a difference for those in need.
