We are delighted to share some exciting news... our Traditional Welsh Cakes have been awarded a Great Taste Award gold star! ⭐️
This accolade comes from the Guild of Fine Food, the organisation behind the Great Taste Awards - often described as the "Oscars" of the food world. Each year, thousands of products are blind-tasted by a panel of independent experts, (15,028 entries this year!) including chefs, food writers, and retailers, all searching for the very best flavours the food & drink industry has to offer. To come away with a gold star is a huge achievement for us, and one that reflects the hard work our team puts in.
Why This Award Means So Much To Us
Our team works incredibly hard to make sure our Welsh cakes are some of the best out there, so it's a real honour to receive the Guild of Fine Food's seal of approval. Knowing that a panel of independent judges tasted our Welsh cakes alongside so many other wonderful products, and decided they stood out, means the world to us. In short... they agree that our Welsh cakes taste flippin' good!
What the Judges Said About Our Welsh Cakes
Great Taste judges are known for their detailed, honest feedback, so we were thrilled to read their comments on our Welsh cakes. They described our Traditional Welsh Cakes as a "lovely spiciness" running through, noting that they were "really well judged, very tender and buttery." They also praised the fruit as "soft and plump," calling the overall result "comforting and well balanced." Finally, they highlighted the Welsh cakes as "melt in the mouth."

An extra special shout out to our friends Fire & Ice in Narberth who were awarded an incredible 3 stars for their Passion Fruit Sorbet and are now nominated for a golden fork. Only 33 products have been nominated out of the 15,028 Great Taste Award entries!
