The Best Things To Do In Saundersfoot

The Best Things To Do In Saundersfoot

If you’re planning to visit the beautiful Pembrokeshire harbour town Saundersfoot but you’re not sure what to do there yet, well, hit save on this web page as we’ve created the perfect list of family friendly activities that are all within walking distance for you!

In no particular order, these are our staff's 10 favourite things to do in Saundersfoot (some weather dependant - soz but it does rain in Wales sometimes, bring a rain coat!). You can read all the review platforms in the world to plan a trip away, but everyone knows there’s no better advice than to trust a local…

#1 Try Welsh Cakes at MamGu’s Kitchen

Okay, we’d be silly to write a to-do list and not include ourselves -  and being hugely biased, of course we're going to put ourselves at the top! Pop down to the harbour and visit MamGu’s Kitchen for the best coffee in Saundersfoot, a delicious twist on traditional Welsh food and of course to try our traditional and alternative sweet and savoury welsh cakes. Even better, you can enjoy your treats with incredible sea views!

#2 Go coasteering & kayaking with Outer Reef

We expect viewing the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast from walking the coastal path is already on your to do list, but have you thought about viewing it from the sea? Join Dean and his team for an unforgettable SUP (Stand Up Paddle-Boarding) or kayaking trip. They’ll teach you to get to your feet on a SUP and paddle in no time, taking you all the way out to Monkstone Point and beyond… if you’re brave enough!

Location: Saundersfoot Harbour
MamGu’s Top Tip: Bring a phone in a water proof pouch and lanyard to get the snaps for instagram and Tik Tok!

#3 Coastal forage your lunch with Craig Evans

Join renowned coastal forager Craig on a Sunny day down the beach where he’ll not only teach you how to recognise edible items that grow in the wild, but how to pick / catch and cook them. This is a delicious activity that is also a great way to learn about sustainability and coastal education.

Here not only can you enjoy some delicious hearty pub meals including the Harbwr Signature Burger and fresh sea foods but you can also delve in to Harbwr’s very own range of beers, brewed just over the hill in Tenby.

#6 Take an early morning stroll along the harbour

Beat the crowds (and the seagulls) and get yourself down to the beach at first light, we promise you will not be disappointed. Not only will you have the beautiful seaside and harbour to yourself but if you get their early enough you’ll get to see the sun rise over the sea (time of year dependent). A great way to clear your mind and a beautiful start to your day!

MamGu’s Top Tip: Bring a flask of your favourite drink, MamGu’s Kitchen doesn’t open till 9am for your coffee!

#7 Events at Saundersfoot Harbour

Saundersfoot Harbour isn't just a port for boats, it's a hive of activities and events. We're extremely lucky to have an amazing organisation in Saundersfoot running the harbour and all year round they host events from a weekly local produce market and sand castle competitions, to live music and even World Rowing Championships!

One of our favourites has got to be the Sunset Cinema Series over the summer. This year they're showing Top Gun - Maverick, Toy Story, Bohemian Rhapsody, Grease, Grown Ups, The Lion King and Mamma Mia! You bring the popcorn and we'll bring the welsh cakes?

MamGu’s Top Tip: Keep an eye on their Facebook page for new exciting events.

#8 Rent a bike and discover Saundersfoot’s secret pathways with Good Trails

Join Good Trails for an unforgettable adventure and view the Pembrokeshire Countryside and Coast via a family friendly bike ride.

If there’s too much swell for you to get in the sea then pop over to Coppet Hall and rent a mountain bike from Alain at Good Trails. He’ll point you in the right direction to explore the woodland and costal tracks around Tenby, Saundersfoot, Stepaside, Amroth and Wiseman Bridge. Our favourite route which we highly recommend has got to be The Dramway, a short easy flat route which is traffic free and will take you from Saundersfoot to Stepaside via a disused railway line. This route can also be combined with a quick (and beautiful!) trip to Colby Woodland Garden.

#10 Enjoy a relaxing Sauna session with Hwyl Sauna

There’s no better way to end a holiday in Saundersfoot than to sit back, relax and enjoy a moment of peace and tranquillity in a Sauna over looking the sea.

Hwyl Sauna gives you the opportunity to enjoy probably one of the best Sauna views in the world, but the best part of their location is that for your cool down you can jump in the sea! (Maybe only for the brave in the winter).

Their sauna sessions can be booked privately or shared and you can choose between 25 minutes or 50 minutes (Max 6 people). Times vary each day and booking is sessional so be sure to book to avoid disappointment.
