It’s official – MamGu Welshcakes are going international! We’re thrilled to share some very exciting news, MamGu Welshcakes has been invited to represent Wales at the British Fair in Tokyo this August!
This incredible event takes place at Nihombashi Mitsukoshi, Japan’s oldest and most prestigious department store - often described as the Harrods of Tokyo. To be asked to showcase our Traditional Welsh Cakes and of course Welsh Cakes with a twist there is a huge honour, and we couldn’t be prouder to be flying the Welsh flag in Japan.
Who’s Going?
While Becky and Ang will be keeping the ship steady here in Wales (and the griddles hot for all our loyal customers), Liam and Sam are packing their bags and heading to Tokyo. They’ll spend two weeks making, baking, and spreading the MamGu word, while also getting the chance to soak up Japanese culture and hospitality of course.
A Global Stage for Welsh Cakes
For us, this isn’t just about taking part in their celebration of British culture – it’s about showing the world the charm, heritage, and flavour of Wales through our much-loved Traditional Welsh Cake recipe and many flavours. To think that people in Tokyo will be enjoying a taste of Pembrokeshire is beyond exciting!
